At Parramatta Cumberland basketball Association(PCBA), we believe representative basketball is about building competitive teams while creating an environment where every athlete is challenged to grow, improve, and reach their full potential.
Our Representative program is designed for players who are ready to take the next step in their basketball journey. Through quality coaching, structured training, and competitive game opportunities, player will develop their skills, basketball IQ, teamwork, confidence, and character while proudly representing the Chargers community.
The Rep trials provide an opportunity for our coaches to evaluate each player’s basketball ability, effort, attitude, coachability, teamwork, and commitment to improvement. Selection is based on holistic assessment throughout the trial process, as we look for players who can contribute to a successful team environment and continue to develop as athletes and individuals.

Attend all scheduled trial sessions for your age group and give your best effort.
Our representative coaches evaluate every athlete across all trial sessions before final selections.
Successful players will receive an offer and teams will be announced online.
Training commences as teams begin preparing for the upcoming representative season.
All players wishing to attend Representative Trials must complete an Intent to Trial Form before registering. This form is mandatory for every trialist and helps us prepare for the upcoming trial process.
Players who are unable to attend a trial due to exceptional circumstances must submit an exemption request by emailing reps@cumberlandbasketball.com.au.
If your exemption is due to injury, your request must include a current medical certificate. Exemption requests without the required supporting documentation may not be considered. Anyone provided a medical exemption is expected to still come to the trial and watch.
Please submit all exemption requests as early as possible to allow sufficient time for review.
Eligible boys and girls within the advertised age groups are welcome to register for the Cumberland Chargers representative trials.
No. Players do not need previous representative experience. Selectors consider skill, effort, teamwork, communication, basketball knowledge and coachability.
Bring suitable basketball clothing, basketball shoes, a labelled drink bottle and any required personal or medical items.
Each age group has four scheduled trials. Some later trials may be invitation only, as shown in the trial timetable.
Please contact Cumberland Basketball as early as possible. Alternative arrangements may be considered by the selection team, but cannot be guaranteed.
Successful players will be notified by email after the selection process has been completed.
Each stage of the trial process will cost $25.
Yes! All players from other assocaitions can trial for the Chargers, however they will need to complete an intent to trial form before trialling.
